Modelling the Material Wood Flow from Finished Products to Forest Wood
22.10.2025
The integration of the finished product sectors closes the cycle and does not end halfway. According to theory, economic impact processes are triggered by end uses (e.g. construction, furniture) and not by an intermediate stage of the production process (sawnwood), in which various demand processes converge in a non-specific manner. This enables the analysis of various simulations for the circular economy in the respective end-use sectors. Of the many possibilities, the project analyses the effects of increased efficiency, material substitution and increased recycling. The report builds on developments in Wood Resource Monitoring over the last 20 years and is the result of the DIEFN project, funded by the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR FKZ 2220WK32B4).
